How to take readings

Water flow into the tank distorts any pressure readings. Before you take the reading stop all flow and wait for 1-2 minutes for the tank to settle down.

All manually entered volume reading are in gallons.

To get to the calibration screen click on the Wrench icon on the tank you want to calibrate.

 

Zero out the top and bottom pressure sensors

Start with a completely empty tank with no pressure.

Look at the top and bottom PSI readings. The reading should be 0 so enter a PSI Calibration amount if it's not 0.

If the PSI reads 0.02 you would enter -002 as the calibration value. After this is entered the PSI should now read 0

 

Start with Bottom Cone Calibration (C)

View inside the tank and fill to very bottom of the cone so you can just see water sitting in the top of the outlet pipe.

  1. Enter a Bottom Volume Sample of 0
  2. Zero out your flow meter
  3. Fill cone approximately 1/4 full and enter the flow meter reading in the "Bottom Volume Sample:"
  4. Repeat step filling the cone to 1/2, 3/4 and completely full

The top of the code should be the transition line between the cone and the main cylinder of the tank.

After entering the top full volume do not enter any more values for the Bottom Volume Sample. The last value added will be considered the full volume of the cone.


Middle Tank Calibration (B)

After you have recorded the full volume of the bottom cone (C) follow the same procedure for the middle of the tank.

  1. Take 4 or more readings while filling the tank.
  2. Enter the flow meter readings into Middle Volume Sample input box.
  3. Enter the last value as the value when the middle of the tank is completely full

Top Cone Calibration (A)

Follow the same procedure as the bottom and middle but enter the readings into the Top Volume Sample.


Next Steps

Next you will generate and download the Excel report which will provide the values to enter into the Calibration Report Inputs. These are the values that are used to accurately calculate the tank volume based on the pressure readings.
